We are all so grateful that that spark remained, and ignited Dispatch from Bewilderness. 💫

love your riff on cataracts — just had both of my old, yellowing (natural) lenses (i .e. cataracts) removed and new (artificial) lenses inserted. The surgeon did them two weeks apart. Ta da! Still need glasses but everything looks bright and colorful! My eye surgeon was lovely and empathetic; shop around for a different surgeon!

There’s something deeply haunting and beautiful in the way you move between physical and emotional memory between scars and sparks. Your words remind me that we carry entire histories in our bodies, but also a quiet defiance and I’m grateful you did. Thank you for sharing this with such raw clarity!
