Wonderful imagery of borders large and small. My mind as a frame, a door or a wall. Thank you.

Matisse has long been my favorite artist -- and what an apt choice for you. As I'm sure you must know, he began making his paper cutouts -- "painting with scissors" he called it -- after his illness left him confined to a wheelchair, and painting became very difficult. He left a great legacies of views through his windows in Morocco and in Nice -- but then a second legacy of paper cutouts that seem to live a life outside the frame.
