J, your anecdotes about your life as a professional writer for Time/Life are beautifully conceived & written. The Cartier cufflinks of your coworkers, their recycled names, like Buffington the 6th, their shoes and clothes proclaiming their insider status, all these details give an incredibly sharp and poignant sense of what your workplace was like.
