Love this clear eyed observation of the pro/con trade-offs of life from a place’s “recent acquisition”- I can’t stop giggling over that! In the end it’s all about the food, isn’t it? When meeting someone new, introducing each other, trading vital statistics, such as age, I learned a replacement for “I am… years old.” Instead, how about “I have…years of life experience.”?

What a great and colorful description of life at a PLC. It might be a better experience if one were more detached from one's mind and memory, than you are. As clever and cognitively clear as you, my dear JHW, it must be painful.
haha I was just telling Billyhill I got up at 5:45 this morning thinking we had to leave for appointments today at 6:45 and just now realized we don't leave for another hour ... was totally convinced we should be in the car :). sigh. .. this getting older isn't for sissies for sure
