Meanwhile, back in Outer Space, a former earthling named J discovers (or thinks she discovers) that every civilization goes through three stages: Survival, Inquiry, and Lunch.
Yes! There are so many experts, on every kind of subject, it seems that the world should be a much smarter and kinder place. Maybe they should be busy trying on all the others’ shoes.
Sigh ... I wish we could exchange brains for an hour ... although we might want to make that permanent. Yours continues to raise key thoughts and considerations that make mine think ... thank you for that.
Trial, training, training, trial!!!! Being guided by a person trying to learn something from the person being trained, retrained, ... its kinda like a seeing person putting on blinders to learn what it is to be Unseeing!! its a noble attempt ... Who does it help? ... I applaud both parties! The trainee for working to be whole again, the trainer for trying to understand!! Its a bitter loop!
I'm still stuck in the loop of how do I really understand, really feel!! So I can really appreciate and grow to the depth of connection and reaching within? Can I really be, really get it!! or is that a limited belief!! Mais, I agree with the final moment of your belief!!

A beautiful post. I had a brain injury in the 1980s when neurologists didn't believe in neuroplasticity, but I'm living proof of it. I taught myself to read, to count, to remember again, after a severe TBI. So much is possible, but it takes time and the right frame of mind. Your mind is beautifully framed.
I had a good laugh when reading the first half of this post. It sort of reminded me of a short history of the Jews: they oppressed us; we fought back; we survived; let’s eat. Now brain training is something else entirely. Can they get the brain to heel, to sit up and beg, to sit and stay, and best of all to shake hands?

I am deeply grateful to you. Thank you.
Thank you. As always. Deep bow.
Thank you for your readership and for your comment. Always appreciate hearing from you.
Loved this one! As for other readers, loved the three stages: survival, inquiry, lunch.
I especially admire your description:
"Some people say [we] don’t 'seem brain damaged.' What they see is in their head. What they don’t see is in ours."

And ultimately a sweet loop, though admittedly it starts as a bitter loop.
